Adding your own question to GLAM:

Our team will help you to design suitable questions to include in our global GLAM monitor. This will provide you with data which you can track over numerous quarters, and even years. Please note that we need to adhere to several best practices and as such, please find some basic question guidelines. Altiant will handle the question translations included in the price, but is unable to do so for any open ended responses.

General tips for questions:

  • Make it relevant to all markets/cultures involved in the project. Anything too country/region specific will create skewed data when comparing across different countries.

  • Word it clearly so translations are smooth. We will work with you to ensure that your questions are worded clearly and succinctly as possible.

  • Questions will need to be reviewed by our team to make sure they do not duplicate others in the survey.

  • Balanced in tone/wording to prevent bias.

  • If a brand is being mentioned, then at least 4 other competitors must be mentioned to prevent bias.

  • Visual questions work well - for example, using brand logos or high def product images.

  • Use questions which can be trended over time. Questions which are unlikely to change much from one year to another will be less effective than those which vary according to related influential trends.

  • Consideration should be given to many respondents answering surveys on devices (eg. smartphones) so cannot be too complex visually.

 Question types:

  • Sliders, Carousels, and all standard question types can be asked.

  • Grids are limited to 5 rows, 5 columns, and only one grid can be asked (to moderate survey length).

  • List type questions are limited to 10 responses/codes (also to moderate survey length).

  • 1 Open end/free text question is allowed
